Last week was our final week of killer overtime so I will hopefully have time to rest AND time to workout. This week I did 4 of the 7 days with a combination of 10 minute trainer and AB Bootcamp. I did relatively well but I'm always looking for new stuff. As long as I can keep moving on a regular basis, I'm happy. My friend "obtained" a copy of Hip Hop Abs so I hope to hook up with her next week for a demo.
Rocky ate a whole red velvet cake and can still fit into his clothes. Why must women suffer???
Oh, have I mentioned my goal date: Memoral Day weekend.

I spent the week sleeping. No exercise, no socializing, no TV watching (except the Biggerst Loser) just sleeping because I got so little of it in January. I feel better now so next week, we're back on.

On again, off again what a shame. I'm back now, though. . . for the time being, lol. Anyway I have a Denise Richards Pilates DVD which looks yummy. I am the resident snow remover so I've gotten quite the workout there in the month of February. Flexibility is not as good as it should be so Pilates is just the thing to get the parts moving well again. The protocol has also been compromised - I think I got the wrong multi and it's making me toss my vitamins AND they seem to get stuck in my throat alot lately but I will work it out. The Valentine's Day Sweets are gone as well and I have three full months to meet my goal and I intend to!!

I joined a aikido class (Iaido) that is taught during lunch..
I've always been in love with swords so I figured I'd take a class and get some exercise at the same time
Been smacked in the nuts twice while trying to go to fast...
Not fun

I get bored so fast it's not even funny. Now it's Pilates - trying to develop a strong core so I can do the things I did before my surgery. I'm also back on the treadmill, between the two I hope to make some progress. The protocol is in full effect so I'm going into Spring with both gunz blazing.

I've now got three Pilates DVD's on loan and one of them includes a cardio workout. I once got up early to workout as opposed to my usual after work deal and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I even got to work early that day, no promises but I may try that again since I've recently developed insomnia.
Next week I hope to report that I worked out the majority of the week. I, Black people and especially Black women need to get on the ball with R-E-G-U-L-A-R workouts. There are no azzes bigger than the ones we carry and that is no where near a good thing.

Been having such a positive experience with Pilates that I forgot to check in. So far, so good. I even do it in the morning which I NEVER do. I usually only workout in the evenings because I want to sleep every minute I can in the a.m. So far its 40 minutes, 6 days a week. My core is weak as hail cuz I still can't sit up from a lying down position without help but I expect it will get better.
The thing I like about Pilates is, I do very little sweating and I'm only out of breath for a short period of time. I feel like I'm working hard without killing myself. I will return to 10 minute workout and treadmill walking but for this moment in time, I'm satisfied.

Still Pilates - surprise! I started out doing 20 minutes went quickly to 40 and now, I hardly feel the 60 minutes going by. It's like I'm in a zone and I don't wake up (or pray for an early end, lol) until it's over. I feel my body opening up to the strength moves. I'm able to hold on longer, sit up taller and stretch more deeply. I refuse to measure anything until it's ben at least a month but I can say that clothes are fitting "differently". Hmmmm . . .

Just as I'm about to add other things to my Pilates workout, I nearly tore off my baby toe in the garden the other day and I am now walking with a pronounced limp. I am really mad because I'm so darn clumsy. THIS WILL NOT STOP THE PILATES 6X a week but all other workouts will have to be postponed for just a little while. I can't even do the longer walk to the car that I've implemented for quite a while now and I hate that cuz I don't like to wait for other transportation, if I can walk it, I will. Until now . . .
Mad but still strong,

Lazy RS worked out two days last week. I wasn't embarrased when it was happening but now that I have to report it, I'm blushing. I've decided to ALWAYS take Sunday off no matter what so tomorrow, I'm back to at least Pilates! I've dug out last year's workout clothes and freshened them up so I'm ready. Also the toe is improving but I can't stay in flip flops at work so it needs to heal a little more for me to do more.
Til next week.

STILL cannot wear regular shoes or sneakers but I did get a pedicure which hurt only a bit so things are looking up. I had rather looked forward to a brisk walk around the +3 mile nearby Park so this is a genuine disappointment. Pilates is getting harder so I must be getting better at it, so the saying goes. Gotta start doing some major cardio but I don't want to make the toe worse. I hope to have a more triumphant report next week. ALSO, I MAY get a copy of INSANITY next week from a friend just to see if I can actually live through it, lol.

Gee, it's been about a month since my last confession, I mean entry. I've decided to couple Pilates with the 10 Minute Trainer to work myself up to INSANITY. I want to go whole hog on the Trainer so that INSANITY doesn't kill me immedately That's the plan so far. I always think I can do better or more in my workout so this is my current commitment.

My Doctor has just given me what is at this point a glowing health report but I have a few more test to take. so by the end of July, I should know my complete health status. In the interim, I wll continue with 10 minute trainer and Pilates and anything else that looks interesting - last night it was Billy Blanks Abs Boot Camp.
I intend every weekend to go for a walk/jog around the local park but I have to drive to get there and then hope for a parking space. I know if I just get there, I will be able to do my thing but the parking hassle and putting my personal stuff in the car trunk is just too much at this point. Our living room and the DVDs are here all the time. I guess I'll deal with them only for now.

Yeah, I still have to work out the Park thing. I was thinking of getting dressed after work and just going straight there but it's sooo hot already. I want to do something I will continue with so, hello Ten Minute Trainer, Cardio and Pilates DVD's. I have no excuses not to do those. I can feel my flexibility increasing and since I park farther from the parking lot and every other place I go, I feel alot less tired in general.
So good things are happening to my very forgiving body. Rocky is being encouraged (by me) to buy a new treadmill. We'll see how that works out.

Last Winter the Furnace guy told Rocky that we would not be able to get central A/C and we are feeling that verdict right now. It's hot and it's gonna get hotter so I'll have to work out something concerning my workouts. I can get up early to cook, clean and do the wash but working out is another issue. I like it cool when I workout or I feel faint. ANYWAY . . .
This week has been pretty good as far as Ten Minute Trainer, and Pilates go. Gardening and watering and outdoor sweeping have also contributed to the workout. I am in need of a cool soapy shower when I done with any of these tasks. The garden is growing lots of wonderful fruits and veggies and for once I'm staying on top of the weeding process.
Life's good and the pounds are melting but the flexibility is lacking. I will address flexibility in the coming week - provided the weather breaks.

Alas, the past week was a bust because of excessive heat. This is the reason I need to find a gym and just go there from work in the Summertime. Of course that's when the gym is crowded with fakers and I have to wait for machines and carry sanitary wipes, etc which is why I don't go but I have to make a decision of going to the gym or doing nothing and I'd rather do something. I have to figure this out soon cuz next week is supposed to be another scorcher.
I'm actually thinking of buying INSANITY but the folks on the promo are all young and fairly fit so I'm not trying to kill myself . . .
DECISIONS, DECISIONS.
By next week I hope to have some answers and alot less bytching. I am working out today!

In an effort to keep it real, I've been doing alot of mentoring and no real working out myself. SHAMEFUL, I know but I think I have put together a team of people at work who will work out with me AND we will hit certain parts that I often neglect - like weights. I also have someone who will show me how to do a decent pushup which I screw up and injure myself with all the time. Working out at the job relieves me of the excuse to do nothing cuz it's seriously hot or because I have other things to do. At the end of the work day, we can just go to the gym, do our thing and then take our sweaty arses home to shower, cook and have a good evening with the family. It's ideal because we drive to work and can get home in a flash. EXCELLENT PLAN! Now to put it into action . . . starts tomorrow.
