Damn I didn't see this thread...

Anyhow, I was disappointed with the commercials overall, but my favorite commercials were the Budweiser commercial where the people formed a human bridge to save the stranded truck...LOL!

The other one was the Doritos commercial where the dude shows up for a date and the girl's son smacks him and says "keep yo hands off my momma, and keep yo hands off my Doritos!" Fucking hilarious.

Those two were funny as hell, along with the Betty White Snickers ad. I also liked the car ad(can't remember which car), where people punched other people in the shoulder whenever they saw one, and at the end Stevie Wonder punches Tracy Morgan and he's like "how do you do that!" LOL!!!

I loved the one where the guy is trying to pull the groundhog out, and he pulls up a mini version of Troy Polamalu and says "Punxatawny Polamalu sees his shadow; 6 more weeks of football!" LMAO!!!!

As for the outcome of the game: Mad Exclamation

Now that the season is over, this labor situation needs to get worked out asap. The NFL is king of the 4 major league sports, and a work stoppage in 2011 will not be good at all.

That one literally shocked and amused me.

Here's an article about how they sort of pulled it off without anyone knowing.

Betty White and Abe Vagoda with Snickers was my fave.

I like the one with Megan Fox for Motorola. I thought it was pretty funny.

Hated the T-Pain/Bud Light one. Autotune is officially dead.

Of course I still love the Doritos commercials.

And I liked the Vizio commercial with all of the Youtube stars and beyonce.

E*Trade made me LOL seriously. I love those damned babies.

I missed the Clydedale commercial. Confused

HC & Hope.

The NFL says they own "WHO DAT". I recall vividly in the 80's when that expression came around that it originated in N'awlins.

Who's right??

It's a fan created chant. It's just a phonetic spelling of the New Orleans accent. BTW the NFL backed down when the state threatened to sue them over Who Dat and the usage of Fleur De Lis.

Doritos commercial was and still is obnoxious to me. I cannot stand grown-assed kids, especially ones that assert themselves over adults.

E-Trade commercial was funny, though. I missed a lot of the commercials.

but you didn't because them old school niggas didn't mind knocking your ass into the middle of next week.

I'm looking at it from the stand point that a lot of these kids are fucking heathens even more nowadays and I can see somebody's nappy headed bastard getting his or her fucking jaw knocked off because of that commericial...I'm waiting for the youtube videos where these nappy headed hoes tape their kids slapping folks and shit, replacing them cussing and rapping and dancing like hookers at the point....

Which is exactly what made that commercial GOLDEN!!

Nah...these kids nowadays go taking THAT frustration out on the community at large. They REALLY want to fuck up Momma's date, not the old lady on the bus.

Who Dat actually goes back to minstrel times. But it had been used by Southern and by an all black male catholic high school in the city prior to the Saints starting to used it in the 70's. The NFL has some nerve. However they reaped a whirlwind of negative publicity. When they issued cease and desist orders to shops selling Who Dat goods, overnight, "The NFL can kiss my WHO DAT" shirts started popping up and the NFL back down.

Equally crappy, some of the movie theaters were letting patrons come in and watch the game for free, so folks could see it on a big screen. NFL sent the theaters a cease and desist letter. They don't want people to watch in large groups other than in bars because it reduces the Nielsen ratings.

I'm ready for Lombardi Gras tomorrow!

What was the outcome of that?

They probably got it done. Several churches tried to have Superbowl potlucks a couple of years ago and they got cease and desist letters.

I'm like OHB and Mack on the Doritos commercial. Too ghetto for my tastes.

My favorite Super Bowl commercials were the Snickers commercial starring Betty White and the careerbuilder.com commercial on "Casual Fridays." When I look at that Snickers commercial, it amazes me that Abe Vigoda is STILL alive. I mean, he was humped over with one foot on the banana peel when "Barney Miller" was on the air 35 years ago! LOL!

Yeah...his ass was already slumping over in The Godfather. Maybe he was born old. Laughing Laughing

My (all Black Catholic) HS all the way in Lafayette used the Who Dat cheer (we got it from Southern) back in the 70's and 80's. It's a Creole thing that (as Kaiju said) plays on our accent.

That "large gathering" TV issue is one of the reasons a lot of clubs don't show the Super Bowl or PPV boxing/events as well. It's not just the NFL, but pretty much any organization with PPV or ratings concerns.

"yadda yadda yadda" @ the reaction to the Doritos commercial. I agree that it was a bit lowbrow (as opposed to "ghetto"), but methinks I spy some single mother bias in the responses. "Kids need to know their place"??? C'mon y'all. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
