Hit-making producer Future popped the question to "Body Party" singer Ciara over the weekend. Future's publicist, Chris Chambers, confirmed the news to the Associated Press saying the "I Wanna Be With You" rapper dropped to one knee last night as CiCi celebrated her 28th birthday in New York City.

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Becoming the second African-American driver to win a NASCAR national series race was a triumph of patience for Darrell Wallace Jr.

He hopes it's also worth the wait for a sport that has spent much of the past decade trying to diversify a traditionally lily-white roster of drivers after claiming only one black winner in its first 65 years.

"I want to be a role model and inspiration to the younger kids and just change the sport as a whole and for the better, and winning helps everything," Wallace, 20, said. "I think that'll help kind of pave its own way there and hopefully get my name out there even more. That's what I've been trying to do is to get my name out there to keep pushing (and) striving for kids younger than me to get in the sport."

Wallace, a graduate of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program that was formed in 2004 to help multicultural and female drivers advance from the grass-roots series, led the final 50 laps of Saturday's Kroger 200 Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway in becoming the first black winner in one of NASCAR's national series since Wendell Scott's Dec. 1, 1963 win at Jacksonville, Fla.

Scott is a native of nearby Danville (about 30 miles east of the track), and a Virginia historical marker was erected on a nearby highway marker in April to honor the career of Scott, who didn't celebrate in victory lane because he wasn't recognized as the winner until the next day.

An emotional Wallace, who admitted lifting off the throttle of his No. 54 Tundra with a big lead while entering the race's final turn because he was in tears, said it was special "to do it in Wendell Scott's backyard" after befriending the family of Scott, who died in 1990.

"If Wendell Scott was alive I would like to call him, but I can call Wendell Scott Jr.," he said. "(Wendell Scott) was watching over me this race. It all goes to him."

The Mobile, Ala., native is in his rookie season driving the No. 54 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports on the truck circuit and is the fourth African-American to drive full time in one of NASCAR's top three national series, joining Scott, Willy T. Ribbs and Bill Lester.

JON CRYER'S EX-WIFE
RICH KIDS ARE HUMILIATING OUR SON
I Need $88K a Month
EXCLUSIVE

Jon Cryer's ex wife claims their 13-year-old son is becoming the object of scorn and ridicule at his exclusive private school because the other kids have a caviar lifestyle and she's forced to live in the world of spam ... and that's why she's asking a judge to squeeze $88k a month from Jon in child support.

Get ready to throw something at the computer (or mobile device), 'cause this is gonna piss you off.

Sarah Trigger has been getting a measly $8,000 a month in child support since 2010. It galls her that Jon is making a fortune on "Two and a Half Men" -- she claims $2 mil a month!

Sarah says life is awful. She says her son Charlie can't afford the ritzy summer camps his friends attend. She says Charlie's friends go on "exotic vacations in the summer and winter like Europe and Thailand." He can't go.

It gets worse. Sarah says Charlie's friends at The Buckley School have "huge birthday parties at expensive places like Sky High Sports and they invite the entire grade." And worst of all ... the Bar Mitzvahs. Sarah says, "Last year there were multiple Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs all with custom invitations, a dress code and huge private receptions afterward."

Sarah says Charlie is feeling the pain, and so is she. Sarah says when she got child support back in 2010, she only had custody 4% of the time ... and that's why she only got $8,000 a month. Now she has custody 50% of the time, so she wants a cool $88,969 a month.

The 69 is clearly for Jon.

Lou Reed, a massively influential songwriter and guitarist who helped shape nearly fifty years of rock music, died today. The cause of his death has not yet been released, but Reed underwent a liver transplant in May.

With the Velvet Underground in the late Sixties, Reed fused street-level urgency with elements of European avant-garde music, marrying beauty and noise, while bringing a whole new lyrical honesty to rock & roll poetry. As a restlessly inventive solo artist, from the Seventies into the 2010s, he was chameleonic, thorny and unpredictable, challenging his fans at every turn. Glam, punk and alternative rock are all unthinkable without his revelatory example. "One chord is fine," he once said, alluding to his bare-bones guitar style. "Two chords are pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz."

Lewis Allan "Lou" Reed was born in Brooklyn, in 1942. A fan of doo-wop and early rock & roll (he movingly inducted Dion into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989), Reed also took formative inspiration during his studies at Syracuse University with the poet Delmore Schwartz. After college, he worked as a staff songwriter for the novelty label Pickwick Records (where he had a minor hit in 1964 with a dance-song parody called "The Ostrich"). In the mid-Sixties, Reed befriended Welsh musician John Cale, a classically trained violist who had performed with groundbreaking minimalist composer La Monte Young. Reed and Cale formed a band called the Primitives, then changed their name to the Warlocks. After meeting guitarist Sterling Morrison and drummer Maureen Tucker, they became the Velvet Underground. With a stark sound and ominous look, the band caught the attention of Andy Warhol, who incorporated the Velvets into his Exploding Plastic Inevitable. "Andy would show his movies on us," Reed said. "We wore black so you could see the movie. But we were all wearing black anyway."

"Produced" by Warhol and met with total commercial indifference when it was released in early 1967, VU’s debut The Velvet Underground & Nico stands as a landmark on par with the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde. Reed's matter-of-fact descriptions of New York’s bohemian demimonde, rife with allusions to drugs and S&M, pushed beyond even the Rolling Stones’ darkest moments, while the heavy doses of distortion and noise for its own sake revolutionized rock guitar. The band’s three subsequent albums – 1968’s even more corrosive sounding White Light/White Heat, 1969’s fragile, folk-toned The Velvet Underground and 1970’s Loaded, which despite being recorded while he was leaving the group, contained two Reed standards, “Rock & Roll” and “Sweet Jane,” were similarly ignored. But they’d be embraced by future generations, cementing the Velvet Underground’s status as the most influential American rock band of all time.

Read Rolling Stone's 1989 Lou Reed cover story

After splitting with the Velvets in 1970, Reed traveled to England and, in characteristically paradoxical fashion, recorded a solo debut backed by members of the progressive-rock band Yes. But it was his next album, 1972’s Transformer, produced by Reed-disciple David Bowie, that pushed him beyond cult status into genuine rock stardom. “Walk On the Wild Side,” a loving yet unsentimental evocation of Warhol’s Factory scene, became a radio hit (despite its allusions to oral sex) and “Satellite of Love” was covered by U2 and others. Reed spent the Seventies defying expectations almost as a kind of sport. 1973’s Berlin was brutal literary bombast while 1974’s Sally Can’t Dance had soul horns and flashy guitar. In 1975 he released Metal Machine Music, a seething all-noise experiment his label RCA marketed as a avant-garde classic music, while 1978’s banter-heavy live album Take No Prisoners was a kind of comedy record in which Reed went on wild tangents and savaged rock critics by name (“Lou sure is adept at figuring out new ways to shit on people,” one of those critics, Robert Christgau, wrote at the time). Explaining his less-than-accommodating career trajectory, Reed told journalist Lester Bangs, “My bullshit is worth more than other people’s diamonds.”

Reed’s ambiguous sexual persona and excessive drug use throughout the Seventies was the stuff of underground rock myth. But in the Eighties, he began to mellow. He married Sylvia Morales and opened a window into his new married life on 1982’s excellent The Blue Mask, his best work since Transformer. His 1984 album New Sensations took a more commercial turn and 1989’s New York ended the decade with a set of funny, politically cutting songs that received universal critical praise. In 1991, he collaborated with Cale on Songs For Drella, a tribute to Warhol. Three years later, the Velvet Underground reunited for a series of successful European gigs.

Reed and Morales divorced in the early Nineties. Within a few years, Reed began a relationship with musician-performance artist Laurie Anderson. The two became an inseparable New York fixture, collaborating and performing live together, while also engaging in civic and environmental activism. They were married in 2008.

Reed continued to follow his own idiosyncratic artistic impulses throughout the ‘00s. The once-decadent rocker became an avid student of T'ai Chi, even bringing his instructor onstage during concerts in 2003. In 2005 he released a double CD called The Raven, based on the work of Edgar Allen Poe. In 2007, he released an ambient album titled Hudson River Wind Meditations. Reed returned to mainstream rock with 2011’s Lulu, a collaboration with Metallica.

“All through this, I’ve always thought that if you thought of all of it as a book then you have the Great American Novel, every record as a chapter,” he told Rolling Stone in 1987. “They’re all in chronological order. You take the whole thing, stack it and listen to it in order, there’s my Great American Novel.”

It's been interesting seeing the reactions to Reed's death and the moaning about how he was too young to die. The man was 71 and a former addict. I think he lived a relatively long life considering what happened to a lot of his contemporaries but I guess if you still have a head full of hair and wear a leather jacket, people think you're young .

'Charmed' Reboot in the Works at CBS

CBS TV Studios, which owns the rights to Aaron Spellings' library, is looking to cash in on TV's current witch craze with a reimagining of the WB Network series.

The network has handed out a script commitment to a reimaging of Aaron Spelling's WB Network series Charmed, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

As first reported by Vulture, Party of Five co-creator Chris Keyser and partner Sydney Sidner will pen the script for CBS Television Studios and The Tannenbaum Co. Keyser and Sidner will also co-executive produce. For itspart, CBSTVS owns the rights to Spelling's library.

Charmed 2.0 is described as a reimaginging of the original series that centered around four sisters who discover their destiny -- to battle against the forces of evil using their witchcraft.

The original series ran for eight seasons from 1998-2006 and starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan.

The Charmed reboot comes as witches continue to be a draw on the small screen. The third season of FX anthology drama American Horror Story: Coven -- which centers on a school of witches -- is on track to be its biggest yet and Lifetime has found success with the freshman run of Witches of East End. Not to be outdone, WGN America ordered Brannon Braga's Salem Witch Trials drama Salem straight to series.

Stevie J Owes $1.2 Million In Child Support
Posted by Staff on October 29, 20131 Comment

It looks like Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Stevie J’s bus has run out of gas.
via All Hip Hop:

”Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” reality star Stevie J. allegedly owes $1.2 million in unpaid child support to two of his children with his former girlfriend.

Reps for former music industry executive Carol Bennett confirmed to All Hip Hop that Stevie J.’s assetts are being targeted. Bennett, who helped Stevie J. with his music career while he was a producer at Bad Boy Records, will host a press conference later this week to address the matter. There, she is expected to reveal more details into what is being labeled as a “historical child support case.”

In fact, Ms. Bennett contacted Bounty Alert and the Custodial Support Foundation, organizations that specializes in recovering hidden assets from people who deliberately neglect their child support duties. Bounty Alert and the Custodial Support Foundation will attempt to recover the back child support, and will investigate any companies that may be shielding Stevie J.’s wealth.

“Our preliminary investigative efforts in Ms. Bennett’s case have uncovered information which raises huge concerns,” Tiffany Stewart Esq., President of the Custodial Support Foundation, told All Hip Hop in a statement.

Reps for Ms. Bennett stated that under the 1992 Child Support Recovery Act, it is a crime to leave a state owing more than $10,000 in unpaid child support, for more than two years. According to Ms. Bennett, Stevie J. could be sent to prison, since he owed more than 20 times that amount when he left New York, for Georgia, where he currently is the star of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.”

The press conference relating to Stevie J.’s back child support will be held October 31 at 11:30AM, at 1 Little West 12th Street (Corner of 9th & Hudson) in the 2nd Floor conference room.

Kim Kardashian's motto for her wedding to fiancé Kanye West is simple: leave it up to Kanye.

The newly engaged reality star flashed her 15-carat sparkler on the red carpet at her 33rd birthday party at Tao Las Vegas Friday night, but said that little-to-nothing has been discussed about the wedding or even how long of an engagement she and West will have.

"We honestly haven't had a moment to talk about it or even breathe, so we haven't really talked about it, but whatever he wants," she told PEOPLE, adding that the only sure thing is that stepdad Bruce Jenner will walk her down the aisle.

Donning a white lace dress she purchased in Paris while pregnant, Kardashian said the proposal was an "absolute, complete surprise." Even her family – who had gathered at San Francisco's AT&T Park – assumed it was for a surprise birthday party.

"I was shaking so much, shaking the entire time," she said. "Like, 'Is this really happening?' It was like an out-of-body experience."

Her whirlwind week continued, and she got to celebrate her birthday in Vegas.

Following West's concert at MGM Grand, Kardashian and West – along with sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian Odom and mom Kris Jenner – headed to Tao to celebrate her birthday. Once inside the packed club, she was greeted with an oversize cake, champagne and a litany of West songs spun by DJ Five.
