I don't think the character, the writing, or the show is "perfect" either. I'm saying she's believable...you're saying she's not. I can see what you're saying on the "fleshing out" part, but I don't agree with you on the character not being credible. That's all.[/color]

I felt like the first episode was rushed. I already stated that I liked the second episode much better.

You eff with her credibility out the gate when you rush ALL ASPECTS OF HER PERSONHOOD in one fell swoop.

It's like... when they fleshed out Miranda Priestly, you are freaked out by her amazing efficiency... so that when she falls apart, you allow it, because you already trust her.

PACING is everything when you tell a proper story. The way that they're telling the story threatens the character's credibilty, because what we're learning about her from the first moment... is that she's messy. That should come later. Establish her with us... let us in little by little... so that we're okay when you pull back the curtain and tell us what's REALLY up.

When your gut is wrong on the FIRST decision you make in the FIRST episode...

I don't trust your gut from now on. Why should I? You couldn't nail it out the gate. Problem.

[b]Then[/b] she went through the rigamoro of making sure she made the right decision. There is no evidence that she didn't trust her gut until AFTER she allegedly trusted and made a snap decision about that girl.

And that's the last I'll say about it... because really, you're not paying attention to the idea of fleshing out a character and proper pacing. I also understand that they're a mid-season replacement so they have to rush to get us to fall in love with it. I'm just part of the % that didn't. I'm certain that I'm jaded by cable series, which seem to have much more time and leeway to nail their stories properly.

I'll leave you to it. I'm sure the series will do just fine. I've given up on nearly all network shows because of these kinds of details. This one is likely no different.

I figured the first lady wasn't entirely clueless, but she had me like "whoa" when she told the Prez that he could sleep better now that he saw Olivia.

The Pres' wife already has what she wants. I bet her ass takes out Cyrus in the end.

I may be an ass but I'm already tired of Quinn's continued naïveté. Plus I need her to have some ideological, religious or political view/basis (or shit even a view of current events does she not read the paper or watch the news?) so that she can serve credibly as the "moral compass" they have set her up to be. Gimme a break. If she could call dude a baby lawyer in Ep 1 that means she's been practicing for a while right? Lets give her about 5 years and put her at 27. By then she would have heard and seen enough even if she was practicing wills and trusts (arguably least controversial area) or only practicing before alj's to have some savvy. She has none. It's annoying. They'd have been better off with her being a top grad just out of school.

I like the show tho

Cyrus definitely has an agenda now...divide and conquer.

I think that was the POTUS on the phone and not the reporter, but it would mean that she's talking to him all while pretending she's not...or the big twist would be the usual, she has a "BF" and her sexual history will come out. Confused

I was thinking that too when I saw the previews....I wonder if she is trying to set POTUS up. I think her kidnapping has to do with her change of heart, so if FLOTUS is involved she may be completely involved, from the initial set up (sleeping with POTUS) to the lie (baby) to the kidnapping (possible death/murder). She knows what type of shark Olivia Pope is and she's pissed that POTUS is in love with her...so why not kill two birds with 1 stone?
